We are delighted to offer this delivery mileage Porsche 991.2 GT3 RS Weissach personally commissioned by ex-F1 driver John Watson. Built to replicate his 1973 2.7RS which he still owns.
The 991 generation of GT3 RS marked the beginning of a new era for the Porsches GT model range. Gone was the infamous Metzger engine and in came an all new four litre unit with an enormous appetite for revs. Now in it's second generation of the 991 Series, the GT3 RS holds the title of having the most powerful naturally aspirated flat-six engine in the line up and remains Porsche's most track-focused road car. This particular model is courtesy of the masterminds in Weissach (a small town in Germany), home to Porsche’s research and development headquarters. Porsche is so proud of the work done in Weissach that it has begun naming the highest-tech, lowest weight option packages for its high-end performance models after the place. The GT3 RS Weissach is the third model to receive the commendable Weissach ‘treatment’, following success with the 918 Spyder and GT2 RS. Aesthetics and lightweight construction form the mantra of Weissach, in which the particular focus is on saving weight. The engineers at Weissach have removed a further 18kg off the weight of a Clubsport specification GT3 RS. This has been done primarily using a carbon fibre roof and a new titanium roll cage to replace the heavier steel one included with the Clubsport Pack. Saving weight this high up in the car gives the added benefit of lowering the centre of gravity, reducing roll whilst aiding overall braking, acceleration and turn-in performance. Stiffness and further weight reduction have also been achieved through the use of carbon fibre anti-roll bars & drop links, whilst sound deadening has been reduced as well as interior trim and carpeting cut back.
This 2019 GT3 RS was ordered by John through Porsche Centre Reading and registered in November 2019. With a mere 50 miles on the odometer, this 2019 GT3 RS Weissach is presented in almost brand new condition.
